The recently bankrupted company Punnitse & Säästä (Weigh & Save) has got a new owner, reported the Finnish language newspaper Aamulehti.

Juuso Siro, who had started the chain in the 1990s, said on Friday on Facebook that he has reacquired the chain. He sold it in 2012.

The Aamulehti reported that it got word of the sale from another source as well.

The company last year had a turnover of less than 19 million euros only. According to the most recent financial statements, it owes 5.6 million euros in debt.

The company suspended its corporate restructuring at the end of October and filed for bankruptcy with the Pirkanmaa District Court.

Punnitse & Säästä sells in bulk a variety of dry foods such as flours, nuts and dried fruits. The chain has around 30 locations.
