FTimes - STT Report, Nov 28

Service sector employers Palta say that 58 percent of Finns do not approve of support strike for the ongoing postal labour dispute. Only 12 percent approve of the support strikes.

However, the Post and Logistics Union (PAU) work stoppages are more sympathetic. Nearly 45 percent of the public believe them to be unfair, while 39 percent agree with the striking workers.

“People do not stand with the unfair support strikes because they severely restrict the already poor competitive situation in Finland economic development,” said

Palta executive vice president Tuomas Aarto in a release.

The results are based on a survey conducted by Palta Economic Research. There were slightly more than a thousand respondents.
