The German media group Bauer Media is buying Radio Nova from MTV.

The company announced the sale soon after the Finnish government had given consent on Thursday to the transfer of the station’s licence to Bauer Media.

Included in the sale from MTV are NRJ Radio Nostalgia’s sales and marketing operations.

MTV’s radio business employees will be transferred to Bauer Media following confirmation of the sale.

MTV’s acting CEO Jani Koskinen said the company will focus on development of future television and digital services.

Bauer Media already owns several radio stations in Finland, including The Voice, Iskelmä, and Radio City.  It bought these stations last spring from SBS Discovery Radio.

Outside Finland, Bauer Media owns 60 radio stations in UK, 50 in Poland as well as a single station in Slovakia.
