More than three million people got tax refund this year and the money was paid into bank accounts on Thursday, tax office sources said.
On an averaging one person received EUR 665 refund this year.
All in all, more than two billion euros were paid out in tax refunds.
Refunds for those without bank accounts can be picked up from the tax administration offices from the middle of next week.
For those who owe taxes, the first deadline has already passed.
The second payment is due at the beginning of February. Nearly 800,000 people owed taxes this year.
