According to a survey commissioned by the University Pharmacy, a third of Finns know that prescription drugs can be purchased online.
One fifth have visited online pharmacies, but only 6 percent have ever bought prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs or other products through an online pharmacy.
Most of those who have used online pharmacies are in the 25-34 age group, and the least are in the 50-79 age group.
Awareness of online pharmacies, however, is the highest in the eldest age group. Women are more active online pharmacy users than men.
There are several online pharmacies in the country.
A total of 1012 people from all over Finland responded to the survey carried out by Taloustutkimus.
