The Value Added Tax (VAT) on digital products may drop this year, Transport and Communication Minister Anne Berner told the Finnish language daily Keskisuomalainen.
The VAT levied on electronic books could be lowered this year, said Berner.
The country will this year endeavour to influence the European Union VAT directive by lowering VAT on digital newspapers and periodicals subscription.
The VAT rate applied on newspapers is 10 per cent compared to 24 per cent levied on the digital versions.
