Producer prices for manufactured products fell by an average of 2.6 per cent year-on-year in December 2015, according to Statistics Finland.

The fall in the producer prices for manufactured products was particularly caused by reductions in the prices of oil products and manufacturing of basic metals from December 2014.

The fall in producer prices was slowed down especially by higher prices of paper and paper board products.

The export price index fell by 2.3 per cent and the import price index by 6.2 per cent in the year, the statistics show.

The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went down by 3.3 per cent. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply including taxes decreased by 2.7 per cent.

Export prices were in particular depressed by the falling prices of manufacturing of basic metals and oil products from December 2014.

The fall in prices was slowed down especially by higher prices of paper and paper board products.

The fall in import prices was in turn especially caused by lower prices of oil products and manufacturing of basic metals compared with the previous year's December. The fall in prices was slowed down, in particular, by higher prices of electronic appliances as per the data.

Producer prices for manufactured products fell by 1.0 per cent from November to December. The drop was mainly due to lower prices of oil products from the previous month.
