The board of the local government pension company Keva has proposed the Mu-nicipal Association's vice president Timo Kietäväinen as their new CEO.

The decision made by the board of directors was 6-3 in favour of Kietäväinen’s appointment.

In the Municipal Association, Kietäväinen has been responsible for, among other things, the municipal economy, social affairs and pension policies.

Kietäväinen also served as Suomen Keskusta (Centre Party) MP from 1983 to 1991.

Keva will name its new CEO in mid-February. Twenty people applied for the posi-tion.

Kietäväinen told Finnish news agency STT that he was happy with the board's proposal but refused to comment any further on the matter until their decision is announced.

Keva’s former CEO Jukka Männistö stepped down after a vote of no confidence by the board in the fall.

His predecessor Merja Ailus also vacated the position.
