FTimes Report, Jan 30

The turnover of large enterprises went down in December 2015, according to Statistics Finland's preliminary data.

Seasonally adjusted turnover decreased in December by 0.3 per cent from November.

In November, the seasonally adjusted turnover of large enterprises was 0.2 per cent and in October 0.1 per cent higher than in the preceding month.

The turnover of large enterprises not adjusted for seasonal variation fell by 0.1 per cent year-on-year in December 2015.

The turnover of large enterprises in return declined in 2015 by 3.4 per cent, the statistics show.

The turnover estimate of large enterprises is based on a sample formed of 2,000 enterprises with the most significant turnover in manufacturing, construction, trade and other service industries.

Excluded from the statistics are enterprises engaged in primary production, and bank and insurance activities.

The enterprises described in the statistics make up nearly 70 per cent of the turnover of all enterprises operating in Finland, representing more than one-half of the investments that employ 40 per cent of the personnel of all enterprises.
