The Employment and Economic Affairs Minister Olli Rehn is satisfied with the report received by the Energy Agency relating to measures governing increase in prices of electricity distribution.

According to Rehn, the report is a good basis for further work in the government.

The Agency will present two measures related to the price increases by the electricity distributing company Caruna, which could then be used to develop legislation.

The first is a ceiling for how high the increases on electricity transmission prices may rise. The second is a time limit on how frequently the prices may increase.

In addition, a sufficient portion of the income generated by the network service charges should be allocated for investment in and development of other networks.
