A three-day Arctic Business Forum conference will begin Rovaniemi, the heart of Lapland, on April 5 to present the latest business development and prospect of the European High North economy.
 
The Lapland Chamber of Commerce is holding the seventh forum which a number of business leaders, academicians, researchers, diplomats and government officials, will attend. They will point out various aspects of the present business situation in the region. The first forum took place in 2010.
 
“The annual Arctic Business Forum in Lapland Finland introduces the latest business development and prospects of the Arctic economy,” said President and Chief Executive Officer of Lapland Chamber of Commerce Timo Rautajoki.
 
The Arctic Europe is a promising region within the Arctic and global economy, said the Chamber president, adding that the northern parts of Finland, Sweden, Norway altogether with Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions in Russia hold investment potential worth of at least 197 billion euros.
 
“The seventh Arctic Business Forum is set to attract companies and business stakeholders from Finland and abroad. New business partners may be reached during the conference days and the social program,” said Rautajoki.
 
Pre-conference activities scheduled for April 5 afternoon will include a reception in the Rovaniemi City Hall and a conference dinner.
 
The working session will begin at Korundi House of Culture on April 6 where Arctic trends and investments, mining, tourism and financing projects and SMEs will be discussed.
 
The discussions the next day will be held on the European Arctic Regions featuring best practices by businesses, transport and Arctic mobility and workforce.
 
Registration with the forum is going on for a fee of Euro 500 plus 24% VAT for members of the Finland Chamber of Commerce. The fee is is Euro 550 plus 24% VAT for others for whole of the conference. The registration fee for one day is Euro 395 plus 24%  Vat for other people. 
 
The price for standing dinner reception in the evening of April 6 is Euro 124 including VAT.
 
The chamber authorities also have reserved accommodation facilities for the participants in different city hotels. Participants will be able to book rooms directly by making payments to the hotels.
