Many grocery shops will keep their doors open during the Easter period. People will be able to shop better than during previous Easter holidays following the liberalisation of shops’ opening hours.

For instance, 80 per cent of S-Group shops will remain open during the entire Easter period.

The K-food stores will decide for themselves the opening hours. Nearly all the largest stores as well as the smaller stores in city centres will remain open during the Easter Day. Smaller stores in rural areas will serve occasionally.

Lidl stores will remain open during the Easter, although most stores will be closed during the Good Friday.

The alcohol retailers Alko will remain open on Maundy Thursday until 8 pm, and afterwards the stores will remain closed until Tuesday.

Similarly, banks will remain closed during the Easter period. On Maundy Thursday the banks will work until 1.00 pm.

The postal offices will be closed from Friday until Monday with the exception of the Helsinki main post office which will remain open on Saturday.

Bus services will not be running on some routes during the period. The timetable for the buses can be checked at: //www.matkahuolto.fi.

Easter holiday will also affect long-distance and commuter trains. The timetable can be found at: http://www.vr.fi.
