Finnish forest machines company Sampo-Rosenlew on Thursday announced the start of cooperation with Indian company Mahindra & Mahindra which will see the Mumbai-based company acquire  35 percent equity stake in Sampo Rosenlew.

The two companies will work closely to expand Sampo Rosenlew’s markets worldwide, as well as take advantage of each other’s expertise in developing  their operations and products,said Sampo Rosenlew in a release.

"With Mahindra & Mahindra we have a possibility to grow and make Sampo Rosenlew a truly global player in the agricultural machinery business as well as enter into the new market areas in which our own resources would not be sufficient," said  Jali Prihti, CEO of Sampo Rosenlew Ltd in the release.

Sampo Rosenlew said the two companies will jointly focus on developing the combine harvester business in India, China, Africa and the Middle East.
