Thu, 05 May, 2016 12:06:08 AM FTimes – STT Report, May 5 Photo – Lehtikuva. Repairs of Volkswagen’s manipulated emissions are to begin next week, announced the Transport Safety Agency Trafi.
The importer VV-Auto will contact the owners of the vehicles in need of repairs.
The vehicle owners do not have to do anything at this stage, said a top Trafi official, Toni Pallaspuro.
The first recalled models will be the Audi A4, A5, Q5 as well as the Volkswagen Golf and Amarok.
As the responsible authority, Trafi will ensure that all vehicles subject to recall will be included in the repair campaign. They will also conduct periodic technical inspections.
The repair operation has begun because the German authorities have issued a formal notice of the initiation of recalls.
The Volkswagen Group admitted last year that it had manipulated the results of the nitrogen oxide emission measurements in some of its diesel engines.
