Thu, 14 Jul, 2016 02:19:02 AM FTimes Report, July 14  Source: Statistics Finland. The turnover in service industries grew by 4.1 per cent in February to April from the corresponding time period of the year before, according to Statistics Finland.
One year previously, the turnover went up by 4.3 per cent over the same period.
All main service industries and almost all service sub-industries grew from one year ago.
The biggest growth was seen in employment activities, where turnover grew by 20.3 per cent from one year earlier.
Services are here examined exclusive of trade.
In addition to employment activities, information services activities (+19.6%) and security and investigation activities (+19.0%) were the biggest growth industries among the service sub-industries in February to April.
Development was weakest in publishing activities (-2.8%), water transport (-2.3%), software and consulting (-0.7%), and motion picture, video and television programme production (-0.4%), in
all of which turnover decreased from one year ago, the data show.
Among the main service industries, development was most favourable in administrative and support service activities, where turnover increased by 10.2 per cent from one year ago.
Professional, scientific and technical activities also grew by 9.0 per cent.
Of the main services industries, transportation and storage still developed weakest, as turnover remained almost on level with one year ago and growth only amounted to 0.2 per cent.
Transportation and storage has the biggest weight among service industries, measured by turnover the share is 28 per cent.
Within the industry, the turnover grew only in land and rail transport (+1.8%) and warehousing and support activities for transportation (+2.3%). More News
