A transformer fire at the Stora Enso factory in Kemi caused production to cease across the entire factory on Sunday.
According to the rescue department, a transformer in a building at the paper and pulp manufacturing factory exploded, causing a fire in the 10-15 square meter room. At noon, the worst of the flames were about ten meters high.
Production resumed in the afternoon after the fire was extinguished.
The rescue department believes that the fire could have been started by lightning.
Stoppages in production always cause massive economic damage for the factory.
