The number of new passenger cars registered in July 2016 was 8,340, which was 4.4 per cent down from the year before, according to Statistics Finland.
 
A total of 13,445 new motor vehicles were registered, of which 9,433 were automobiles, in the month.
 
First registrations decreased by 3.3 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year as per the data are based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.
 
The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 31.9 per cent. The numbers are exclusive of the vehicles on the Åland Islands.

A total of 115,254 vehicles were first registered in the January to July period of 2016, the statistics show.
 
Compared to the year before, there was an increase of 8.3 per cent.
 
The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to July period was 73,805, which is 12.1 per cent up from the year before.
 
The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to July period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Skoda.
