The deregulation of shop opening timetable has increased the number of working hours, according to the retail giant S-Group.
The number of supermarket customers has grown thanks to the deregulation, said SOK Chief Executive Officer Taavi Heikkilä. SOK is a cooperative constituent of S-Group.
The S-Group has increased the working hours and hired new staff following the change in opening hours.
Heikkilä said the total number of hours worked in the S-Group in the first half of the year was 500 person-years.
In the first half of 2016, S-Group’s grocery sales grew by more than four percent to over three billion euros.
