National postal service operator Posti is set to cut jobs of 47 early morning delivery workers in Oulu.

The requirement for reduction was evaluated during negations at the end of June.

It was stated that the reason for redundancy was that Posti no longer operates the early morning deliveries of Helsingin Sanomat in Oulu.

Finnish language dailies Helsingin Sanomat and the Kaleva announced in June their decision to work in co-operation for printing and distribution in Northern Finland.

Kaleva will start to print the Helsingin Sanomat newspaper and distribute it through their own early morning delivery service.

Early morning deliveries of the Helsingin Sanomat will continue to be processed in Oulu, until the 3rd of October.
