An employee of Danske Bank reportedly stole money from the accounts of customers at the Leppävaara branch of the bank in Espoo.
 
According to the Western Uusimaa police pre-trial investigation, the man had forged bank doc-ument and took the approved credit for his own use.
 
Money was directly withdrawn from one customer's account.
 
Lead investigator Viola Ikonen revealed that about 5 to 6 such incidents took place and the police are probing into the matters.
 
The police suspect that hundreds of thousands of euros were stolen during the scams.
 
Danske Bank submitted a request for investigation for what they suspected to be aggravated fraud and aggravated embezzlement at the beginning of August.
 
The 1987-born suspect who has been in remand for two weeks is no longer in the service of the bank.
 
The bank has been in contact with the targeted customers, and has assured them that they will not incur any damages as a result of the suspected irregularities.
