The credit rating agency Fitch has reassigned Finland’s long-term credit rating at AA plus.

Finland’s outlook, according to Fitch, is stable.

According to Fitch, a series of shocks which limited the economic growth and the population growth that proved strenuous on public finances have contributed to the fact that the rating is not at the highest possible level.

The Finnish economy is recovering and investors’ confidence is strengthening, said Fitch.

Fitch expects the Finnish economy to grow by 1.2 per cent this year; however, the difficulties facing the export economy are forecast to continue.

Fitch downgraded Finland’s AAA rating to AA+ in March.

In autumn of 2014, one of the three major credit rating agencies, Standard & Poor, downgraded Finland’s rating. Moody also downgraded the country’s rating to Aa1 in June.
