Mon, 03 Oct, 2016 12:43:35 AM FTimes-STT Report, Oct 3 Taskforce chairman Martti Hetemäki. File Photo Lehtikuva. The unemployment reforms taskforce has finalised its report with a number of disagreements still present between the labour organisations on different points.
The three parties involved failed to reach to consensus on deductible days and staggered earnings, among other things.
The taskforce chairman, Martti Hetemäki will submit the report to Finance Minister Petteri Orpo on Monday.
Also, the board of the Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK) will hash out the report on Monday.
The Finnish Confederation of Professionals-STTK will also have an extraordinary board meeting on Tuesday to discuss the issue.
STTK Chairman Antti Palola said the contents of the report will be presented to the board, and the board will make a decision about how they will react and proceed.
“When you take into account that the mandate was very limited and the time short, the work proceeded in accordance with STTK objectives, but not all the objectives were quite reached,” said Palola to the news agency STT.
The government will reportedly consider the report on Tuesday at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Policy, and the Economic Council will handle it on Wednesday.
The latter will include, among others, chairman from central labour market organisations.
The government had required a unanimous report from the organisations.
Sources estimate that despite disagreements, the government is expected to start their own preparations on the basis of the report, because it contains a lot of good, and a lot of work has already been done.
