The food industry workers have signed a collective agreement valid until early 2021, the Finnish Food Workers’ Union (SEL) announced on Thursday.
The new agreement will come into effect in early February 2017. Under the agreement, there will be no wage increase in the first year, but later salaries will be increased on the basis of industrial work comparisons.
Parties in the collective agreement are technology industry workers, basic chemical workers, and mechanical forestry workers.
The agreement does not include cuts in, for example, annual work hours.
SEL and the Finnish Food and Drink Industries Federation settled the collective agreements for the baking, meat, dairy, food, brewing, and soft drinks industries.
