Finnish crane and lifting machinery manufacturer Konecranes on Monday announced that it had received a Notice of Intent to Award Contracts from the Virginia Port Authority (VPA) in the USA, said Konecranes in a statement.
The award covers the provision of 86 Automated Stacking Cranes whose deliveries are scheduled in phases for 2018-2020.
The value of the deal which is the largest in the history of Konecranes is in excess of 200 million euros.
The first contract shall be for the procurement of 60 Automated Stacking Cranes for Norfolk International Terminals (NIT).
VPA also intends to award a second contract for procurement of 26 Automated Stacking Cranes for Virginia International Gateway (VIG).
