The number of new passenger cars registered in October 2016 was 9,162, which was 0.1 per cent down from the year before.
 
A total of 14,140 new motor vehicles were registered, of which 10,547 were automobiles in October, according to Statistics Finland’s data.
 
First registrations increased by 0.3 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.
 
The share of new diesel-driven passenger cars was 32.5 per cent as per the data based on the Vehicular and Driver Data Register of the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.
 
The numbers are exclusive of the vehicles on the Åland Islands.
 
A total of 159,355 vehicles were first registered in the January to October period of 2016. Compared to the year before, there was an increase of 8.4 per cent, the statistics show.
 
The number of passenger cars first registered in the January to October period was 101,827, which is 10.8 per cent up from the year before.
 
The most common passenger car makes first registered in the January to October period were Volkswagen, Toyota and Skoda.
