Mining technology company Outotec is starting codetermination negotiations with a potential reduction of no more than 60 permanent employees.
The company says it will continue to adapt its operations for metal processing solutions in the face of continued weak market conditions.
The planned reductions of up to 40 applies to the Turula manufacturing units in Outokumpu in North Karelia. According to the company, the unit's workload might be lessened and personnel departments may also be laid off temporarily.
A total restructuring could result in the dismissal of 200 employees worldwide, including as many as 100 working in Germany, the company said.
Outotec has approximately 4200 employees.
