One child was killed and four others were wounded when the roof of a Horse Riding school collapsed at Luga area in Jyväskyla on Wednesday afternoon. The injured were admitted to the Jyväskyla central hospital. Two of the injured were in critical condition but they were not in life risk while the two others were mild injured, Hospital Chief Medical Officer Johanna Tuukkanen said. The critical persons were conscious, the officer added. Eye accounts and investigators initially said that the accident could be taken place due to heavy snow fall. Fifteen different departments of fire fighters along with six units of emergency and the rescue helicopter have conducted the rescue drive after the accident. The Finnish Air Force special unit also rushed to the spot for cleaning -up the premises. Two of the horses out of four in the hall also died in the collapse. Accident Investigation Board is investigating the hall roof collapse. Detective Chief Inspector Markku Latvala said that the accident could be taken place due to heavy snow fall but criminal activities could be also a reason The Owner of the Horse riding school, Markku Pulkkanen, however, did not reply to the question of STT regarding building condition as he said that he was too tired in the evening.
