Party chair criticizes austerity bill

The ruling Social Democratic Party (SDP) leaders on Saturday strongly criticized the government planning to reshuffle the cabinet as they said that bringing changes in the ministerial level at this moment might hinder the ongoing development activities of the government.

The party chairperson, Jutta Urpilainen went under the strong criticism at the meeting of the National Executive body of the SDP when the senior leaders engaged in a debate on the possible reshuffle in the government.

Urpilainen, also the Finance Minister told the meeting that the government already reached to a half way to bring reshuffle in the cabinet to boost the progress.

In her speech, the SDP chief said that everybody should have been given a fair chance to work for his or her mother land and the reshuffle process could give them the opportunity to work for the nation.

She said that the reshuffle planning was undertaken to accelerate the ministerial activities.

 Urpilainen also said that the reshuffle might be taken place before the summer. 

Protesting the remark of the chairperson, party lawmaker Kosonen said that the reshuffle would block the ongoing reform process and eventually the development would be interrupted.

When the ministerial reshuffle issue was being discussed in the recent weeks, the announcement of the  foreign minister, Erkki Tuomioja to be a candidate for 2015 parliamentary polls created a wide spread speculation that the foreign minister attempted to defend his position.

Speaking on the economic situation, the SDP chairperson criticized the austerity bill, which has become the center of attraction of international media alongside among the nations.

Austerity has already been introduced in many countries because of the reality of economic recession. 

As many countries in the world seem to have hard landed in fiscal issue, the austerity mechanism has become more and more popular to have realistic solution.

The Finance Minister believed that  that the austerity might play a significant role in the economy in the present time by cutting the major cost but she pointed out that a modest economic policy is much better than anything. 

Although number of economists in the globe have been engaged in vibrant campaign of austerity, a lot of others have been opposing it same time. 

Oli Rehniin said that a tight budget has received considerable criticism from the economist point of view, included Nobel Prize laureate Paul Krugman.

However, the Finance Minister, Jutta Urpilainen told the reporters that the common view regarding the austerity have not earned lot of support from the economists.
