FTimes-STT Report, March 17

The Minister for International Development, Heidi Hautala will resign from the ministerial working group but will continue as a minister following the allegations raised against her.

The decision of her resignation was disclosed by the Green Party chairman, Ville Niinisto on Saturday where the party chair said Hautala did not want that her mistakes undermine the government image.

Niinisto, however, said that the decision of resignation from the working group committee was taken by Hautala herself.

Hauatal is being widely criticized by the media concerning the activities of renovation, cleaning and pension bills matter. The criticism attributed to her alleging connection with black market.

Niinisto observed that Hautala would remain trusted for her words and will be continued her ministerial works accordingly.

In an Interview with Helsinki Sanomat, The renovation worker who had commissioned by the minister told that he had been proposed to do the work in black market.

Heidi Hautala , according to the news agency , repeatedly expressed her sorrow for the matter.

Earlier, the Prime Minister, Jyrki Katainen on March 14  said in Brussels that the minister for International Development, Heidi Hautala would continue as a minister despite the allegations raised against her.

The allegation came to the public following a news report published by a Finnish language tabloid, Iltalehti, which unearthed alleged irregularities against the minister regarding unattended pension  and home renovation works bills in late 2009

The prime minister, however, said that an employer should be obliged to render his or her liability in accordance with the law.

But Katainen said that the criticism from the media would not affect the ministerial work of the minister.

The minister for International development, Heidi Hautala, however, expressed her regret responding to the allegation report of the news media.

According to the report, Hautala had paid the bill  of renovation in hand and had left unpaid pension contribution.

There was a widespread criticism that Hautala is a member of underground economy in normative work against the ministerial working group.
