Metro services disrupt for 2 hours

Police on Saturday arrested one person for his alleged involvement in throwing a woman into the metro-rail line at Hakaniemi metro station in Helsinki.

The person allegedly pushed the woman under the metro rail when a metro arrived at the station but the woman survived after sustaining severe wounds at her head.

Eye accounts said that the woman had dispute with the man and at certain stage of the altercation the man pushed her into the metro line when a metro rushed to the station.

She was rushed to the hospital immediate after the accident and doctors found her conscious. 

Fire service officials termed the woman lucky for her survival in the accident.

Police said that the detained person might have intoxicated at that time  and he was arrested as a suspect of the attempt to murder.

The accident disrupted the metro-communication for about two hours.
