The warm weather during the recent weeks has put impact on the harvest of strawberry this year.

The strawberries in different fields have already started to ripen due to the scorching heat and expected to come to the local market in mid-summer, the Fruits and Berry Farmers’ Union sources said on Sunday.

The farmers, however, said that the production would be lower than average due to the drought this year.

The farmers last month expected a bumper harvest of strawberries this year as winter frostbite and other disasters harmed the growth of the fruit very little.

The growth of strawberries was very good at the beginning of season as there was no other significant disaster.
