At least 15 people were drowned in different lakes and rivers in Finland in the last month, according to official statistics released on Friday
Eleven of them are male while the rest female, said a report by STT quoting the Swimming Instruction and Life Saving Union that.
This year’s number of drowning was higher than that of the number of corresponding month of the previous year; it said adding that 13 people were drowned in May 2012. Accidents during boating cause most of the drowning incidents in Finland.
This time round, most of the incidents took place in East Finland.
