Several thousand people including cabinet member, minority ombudsman, political leaders, rights group members and diplomats participated in a procession brought out by sexual minority group-Pride in the capital on Saturday.
Helsinki unit of Pride organised the precession as part of its week-long programme and paraded through vantage points in the city.

The weeklong programme is scheduled end today.
Police said that about 7500 people participated in the procession that started from the Senate Square and ended at the Hakasalmi park in the city centre through different important points in the evening.
The Sports and Cultural affairs minister, Paavo arhinmäki, minority rights ombudsman Eva Biaudet, the US ambassador to Helsinki, Bruce Oreck and deputy mayor of Helsinki city Laura Räty, among others, participated in the procession and expressed their solidarity with the Pride movement.
