Several hundreds of residents were evacuated from near an explosive plant after a leak in the plant released hot wave in Vihtavuori of Laukaa, officials said.
 
The residents were evacuated as fear mounted that the explosion plant might cause harm to them because of chemical reactions.
 
Police and firefighter said that the situation created in the evening when a container of the explosives waste at the Forcit Vihtavuori explosives plant posed risk of chemical reaction and heat hazard due to the leak.
 
The rescue authority evacuated most of the total 2,000 residents and took them to nearby shelters to avoid the risk when the air temperature reached to about 60 degrees Celsius.

Some of the residents took shelters to the homes of their friends and relatives.
 
 Forcit Vihtavuori factory manufactures explosives being used for mining.
 
The fire fighters believed that the risk was over by Wednesday night.
 
“The risk for accident and environment hazard is over and the evacuated people might be brought back at about 10.00 pm,’ The chief of the rescue service , Pauli Nurminen said Wednesday night, adding the people would be brought back when it would be confirmed that there is no poison in the air.
