FTimes-STT Report, July 12

The ministry of Justice on Thursday suggested a law against sexual abuses keeping the provision for imposing fine against any unauthorized touching.

Terming all kind of forcible intercourses as rape, the proposed law would able to bring the criminal under penalty, even the sexual conduct is not involved in any other major crime, ministry sources said.

The initiative has been taken with the view to curb the sexual harassment including unfounded asking for others' sex life and protect human sexual self-determination.

Even, if there is a relationship where there is no harassment, the authorized sex without prior permission would be also punishable under the proposed law.

Department of Justice also suggested to reduce the sexual crimes bringing amendment in the law, to be placed before the parliament for discussion in Autumn session, said sources.
