7,487 residence permits granted in 6 months
Russian, Indian, Chinese get highest number of permits

The Finnish immigration authority has granted 7,487 residence permits out of about 10,000 applications submitted by the foreigners outside of European Union in the first six months of this year, according the official sources.
 
Sources said that about 70 per cent of the total applications were considered positively by the authority.
 
Most of the applications were submitted under the ground of family ties. The authority however, rejected 60 per cent of the applications submitted on the ground of family ties during the period, said sources.
 
Most of the residence permit applications were submitted by the Russian nationals followed by the citizens of India and China.
 
Immigration authority said that the number of residence permits granted in the first six months of this year is almost same to that of the number of stipulated period of the previous year.
