Ground fires break out in many places

One person was burnt alive when a devastative fire broke out at an apartment building at Poutamäentiearea in Helsinki on Friday afternoon.
 
Police and firefighters said that the fire took place at about 5:30 pm at the house and engulfed the adjoining areas.
 
Responding to an alarm, firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control but by the time a resident of the house had died.

The fire-fighting units found the body of the deceased inside the apartment. The age and sex of the victim, however, could not be ascertained immediately.
 The apartment suffered significant smoke and damages in the fire.
 
Meanwhile, ground fires took places at different places in Mid Finland and Satakunta on Friday evening. 
 
The fire fighters rushed to the spots at Rauma, Kaarina, Paimio, Laitila,  Salo and Eura and controlled the fires, fire services sources said.
 
The Meteorological Institute also issued warning of forest fire at different parts of the country.
 
Earlier, on July 14, fires broke out at number of forests at different places in Middle Finland due to continuous dry weather in the country.
 
The major incident of fire took place at Rövarnäs area at that time. A total of 12 units of firefighters and border guards rushed to the spot with helicopters to bring the fire under control.
 
Some forests at Pirkanmaa Punkalaidun, Ylöjärvi and Saloareas in Middle Finland were also burnt due to the fire on the same day.
 
Fires also broke out in the forests of East-FinöandKide, Virolahti and Kuopio on July 14.
