FTimes-STT Report, September 12

A man was fined EUR 13,000 as his dog had bitten a school girl at Kontiolahdi area last year.

The North-Karjala district court awarded the punishment to the 54-year-old man for causing injuries to the victim and leaving the animal unattended, court sources said.

The 10-year-old girl sustained serious wounds on her face when the dog suddenly bit her in October last year.

The court in the judgment said that the man did not consider the dog dangerous, although it also bit at least two other children.

The man, however, did not admit that his dog is dangerous.
