The organised gang in guise of the dating site abducted the Finnish man in Dakar, the capital of the African country for three weeks and took away valuables, credit cards and cash from him, said police.
Sources in the Central Bureau of Investigation said that the miscreants also beat the Finnish man several times during the hostage period.
The criminal gang using the dating website allures western people using Senegalese woman to visit the country very often and snatch valuables and goods from them, suspected police.
Terming the trap as dangerous and even could be risky for life, the Finnish police warned the people to refrain from making any deal via such websites.
The Senegal Police arrested several suspected people in connection with the incident. More News
