The map will help the people to find out the spots for collecting the forest mushrooms and berries in future, particularly for those who do not have their own summer cottage or do not have knowledge of forests.
Kauko Salo, a senior researcher of the Forest Research Institute said that the spots on the forest land belonging to the state would be marked first while the private land wound be brought under the map gradually.
Salo said that the map would be an outcome of their 20 years’ planning and nothing could be said specially about the map before next year.
“Still we have many things to be cleared,” said Salo, adding that despite getting massive positive feedback about the project, there is some confusion remaining.
