An elderly man was killed in a fire at Kauhajokiarea in South-Pohjanmaa early Thursday night.
He was about 70 years old.
Police and fire fighters said that the fire broke out at his residence and engulfed the house before arrival of the rescue members at about 4:00am.
The man who was living in the house alone was burnt to death on the spot.
The time and reason of the origin of the fire could not be known immediately.
The fire, however, did not spread to the nearby houses, said sources.
