About 700 people are leading life of slaves in Finland, according to assessment done by the Walk Free Foundation.

The cases of slavery involve mainly in the exploitation and abuse of migrant workers, said the report.

The Finnish government and the trade unions are yet to secure the rights of migrant workers in the country, the report added.

Slavery is common in countries like Mauritania, Haiti and Pakistan in relation to their populations.

The first global slavery index survey involved 162 countries, where Finland ranked 150 in the list.

The factors of bondage in debt, forced marriages and human trafficking were brought under consideration in the Walk Free-Foundation study.

According to the organization, nearly 30 million people in the world live in slavery.
