Police suspected 28 people, including six acting members of the gang, for their involvement in the smuggling and already arrested five of them.
After initial investigation, police estimated that about 40 kilograms marijuana worth EUR 400,000 was smuggled during the period.
A well organized gang brought the marijuana to Finland and distributed at different parts of the country including Middle Finland, Jyväskylä and nearby areas.
Police said the suspects admitted their involvement in the smuggling, and 13 kilograms of marijuana, along with EUR 24,000 in cash were recovered from their possessions.

Police also arrested two persons along with a huge amount of ready cannabis.
Sources said that the first drive took place on Saturday when police recovered more than 400 cannabis plants from the yard and backyard of a house, while another team recovered some ready cannabis from another house of the area.
