Two convicted prisoners managed to escape from the Köyliö prison in Satakunta on Thursday, reported Finnish Language evening daily Iltalehti.

According to the report, the two prisoners were present in the jail during morning inspection and breakfast time; but the warden did not find them when the prisoners were going for field work.

The jail authority failed to immediately find out how the criminals broke the prison.

The warden, however, said the prisoners would not be dangerous for the outsiders.

Jail sources said the fugitives were 38 and 39 years respectively and their terms at the jail were scheduled to end in about a year and a half.

The incident prison break has raised many eyebrows about the security arrangements of the Köyliö prison, a part of the Satakunta prison, the report said quoting officials.
