Oras Tynkkynen, vice-chairman of the parliamentary group of Vihreät (Green League), on Sunday said the government report on future rarely showed concrete findings in policy changes.

Tynkkynen, also a lawmaker, said it would be difficult to implement the recommendations of the report because measures according to the report would affect different ministries.

Moreover, discussions in the reports were left at the general level, said the lawmaker.

“The report should lead to concrete decisions. Like a kind of academic deliberation,” he said, adding that the report prepared spending thousands of Euro in four years and it would not be justified if it failed to bring any effective policy.

Tynkkynen led the previous drafting of the report on future climate and energy policies.

“One of our goals was that the report was to influence policy more than the previous reports,” he said, adding that the positive aspect of the report was setting up long term targets.
