President Sauli Niinistö and his visiting Namibian counterpart Hifikepunye Pohamba expressed the interest during a meeting held between the presidents in Helsinki.
They discussed issues related to economic opportunities for Finnnish companies’ involvements in Namibia’s mining sector were highlighted in the meeting.
“Finnish companies are interested to work in mining activities in Namibia,” said Niinistö at a joint press conference after the meeting, adding that both the countries have the opportunity to expand and diversify bilateral trades.
Visiting president Pohamba and the first lady are scheduled to make a visit to the Geological Survey of Finland and the Helsinki University Library on Wednesday.
Pohamba will also meet Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen.
