FTimes-STT Report, December 9

An industrial building housing four companies was completely destroyed when a fire broke out at the building in Kauhava on Sunday.

The emergency and rescue service department estimated losses of asset worth about EUR 1.5 million due to the damages caused by the fire.

The fire alarm set off at 7am and by that time the fire had already spread to 600 square metre roof of the building.

Earlier, a fire broke out in the building on Friday in which rescue services extinguished fire that was blazing on a lawnmower.

The head of the emergency and rescue service Keijo Kangastie said the new fire might have resulted from structures that were left smouldering during Friday's incident.

Kangastie was astonished by the new fire outbreak. According to him the hall was safely guarded after the fire outbreak on Friday.

"It is too bad, some faults could have happened anyway, although from every facet we will try to do things appropriately,” said the rescue service boss.
