The firearms used in the shooting incident at Malminkartano Square in northern Helsinki  on Saturday were illegal, police said on Sunday.
 
The police also recovered a pistol and ammunitions from the residence of the suspect, during an extensive search.
 
The law enforcing agency also gathered information after interrogating majority of the people involved in the clash.
 
The police, however, refused to disclose detail of the findings and did not divulge on the exact number of detained persons.
 
Different sources said that several people were arrested in connection with the clashes, which ensued after an altercation between two people, followed by other members of their groups rushing outside of a restaurant to solve the dispute. 
 
Police also said the injured people were out of danger, although some of the wounded were still in the hospital. 
 
Five people were shot and wounded in the Finnish capital city of Helsinki on Friday night, local media reported.
 
Four men and one woman were among the wounded and were sent to hospital. Reports said that no one's life was in danger.
 
The shooting happened at midnight in Malminkartano Square in northern Helsinki as several gun shots were heard. The police received the first emergency call around 1am Saturday.
 
Meanwhile, in another incident, a 30-year-old man sustained bullet wound on his leg at Karjaa town in Raasepori onSaturday night.
 
Police said the man was injured when miscreants attacked him with firearm at a parking area in Karjaa.
 
He was taken to hospital immediately after the incident and his life was out of danger, police and hospital sources said.
 
Police arrested two men in connection with the incident. The suspected criminals and the victim hailed from Western part of Uusimaa.
 
The motive behind the attack could not be known immediately.
