The Eastern Uusimaa District Court on Monday sentenced a man to life-term imprisonment for killing his former spouse.
The court awarded the punishment to the man – aged around 40 years – as allegations brought against him were proved beyond doubt.
According to the verdict, the man had planned the act which the court termed as brutal and cruel.
The body of the woman was found along the side of the road heading from Askola towards the direction of Porvoo and Mäntsälä.
The couple had prior disagreements and also engaged in custody disputes. The mental health assessment report also said the man was responsible for the murder.
