About 37 million Christmas greeting cards were sent by post this year, compared to 40 million cards that were delivered on the occasion last year, said Itella Corporation, the company offering postal and logistical services in the country.
Itella sources also said the postal service delivered 31 million packages during Christmas, which was 1.1 million higher compared to the previous year.
The packages of consumer goods ordered on-line and Christmas shopping increased by 7.5% compared to last Christmas.
Itella also said the Posti Parcel Point popularity among those ordering from on-line stores has grown significantly during Christmas this year.
